Cory Stagg

Corey Tirell Stagg was born on January 22, 1986 to Jerry
Lester Stagg and Twala Dorethia Hunter. Corey departed this
life on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at 7:03 pm in the presence of his
loving mother.

Corey graduated from Walbrook Senior High School. He
also received his associate degree in international culture.
Corey attended both University of Maryland Baltimore County
and Xiamen University in China. Corey worked as a student
assistant at CCBC and was able to teach English to adults while
studying abroad.

Corey enjoyed swimming, fishing, and going to church.
He would walk several miles to attend morning worship services
on many Sundays. He desired to reside in China as he loved the
culture. Corey’s mother remembers him as a child who liked to
dance and be adventurous. Corey also enjoyed listening to
music of different cultures and playing Xbox and PlayStation
games. Corey will be deeply missed.

Dorethia Hunter; his father, Jerry Lester Stagg (Rosalind); three
brothers Haniff “Derrell” Smith of Baltimore, Jerry Stagg, Jr.
residing in Iowa and Jermaine Stagg of Baltimore; two sisters,
Shanika and Ariel Stagg both of Baltimore; a host of nieces,
nephews and other relatives.
