Mary Lavinia Reeder Carter daughter of the late Samuel and Lola Reeder was born October 22,1926 in Baltimore, Maryland. She departed this life on June 12 ,2022 At Bon Secours Medical Center in Petersburg Virginia.
Mary better known as Bea received her education through the Baltimore City Public School System. She worked at Asbury homes for a number of years along with her mother Lola Reeder. She was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ.
She married John Calvin Carter on March 30,1957 they had known each other since the third grade. They together raised four children. Bernard, Eugene, Shirley and Carita. They were an exceptionally close couple who enjoyed family as well as traveling together until the departure of her dear sweet love on July 13, 2003.
Mary was an exceptional person who at 95 years young was able to still live on her own and get around fairly well which was absolutely remarkable. She also Loved music and loved her family, and all talked about how she was a sharp dresser who loved her jewelry. Mom will sincerely be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Family members who celebrate Mary's life are her daughter Carita and son-in-law Dennis Edwards, sister Delores Wheeler and brother Herman Reeder, seven
grandchildren, Michael Wilson Sr. Tony Wilson Sr. Franklin and Sylvia Butler, LaShawn Edwards, Carkeia and Tyrone Massenburg, and the late Eugene Wilson Sr. and Maurice Byrd Sr. and her extended children Natalie and husband Tyrone Pompey, and Howard Byrd. 22 great grandchildren and 35 great great grandchildren.And mom was eagerly awaiting the newest addition to our family Ms.Dream Washington who should be arriving in a week or so. We will all be sure to share special memories with Dream about her great-great-grandmother. And mom also leaves to celebrate her life a host of Niece's,Theresa, Lavern, Michele, Christine, Wanda, and Marilyn.Nephew's: David, Charles, Robert, Norman, and Curtis. And a host of great nieces and nephews and other loved ones and Friends.
